I REALLY don’t want to give her more attention, than she’s already getting, BUT, I have to do an open letter for her. Because some things are just, “Vulgar For NO APPARENT REASON.” Erykah, I LOVE you. I have all your records, I even bought the latest one. But, I have a bone to pick with you. Your song “Window Seat” is great, but the video isn’t. I TRULY understand your message & whatever else, but you as a grown woman should know what’s right from wrong. Did you think the video wasn’t going to garner attention? Or did you do it purely for attention? Here’s what I can’t seem to understand: Why couldn’t you’ve gotten a permit, or used a studio with actors? Even if the message is, “going against society’s rules”, we all have to live by them. Whether they’re wrong or not, we all know how our society is, & anything that you & I may claim as “art”, may be completely different from the next person. Although Lady Gaga got naked, she did it in a controlled environment. Whatever “art”, or “message”, you may be trying to portray, doesn’t have to be compromised, but do it with thought & consideration for others. And Remember, it’s just a music video, it wasn’t that serious. You Know that, I know that & everyone else knows that. Instead of making excuses about what we already know, why not just simply explain why you couldn’t have simply gotten a permit or used a studio? Until, you can TRULY explain that, I don’t care for you anymore.
