I wanna start this post off, by using Mariah Carey’s “Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel” for an example:

This album’s sales were low. Notice I Didn’t say flop, because she’s not the only one.   Just Like 50 Cent. He was debuting at #1 over & over. So, what happened? Well, He had feuds with Beanie Siegel and other rappers, same as Mariah had a feud with Eminem. I Honestly think these two particular albums flopped, because of lack of promotion, lackluster music, and feuds. Mariah hasn’t been making the best music lately, and like I said before, 50 Cent’s rhymes are getting soft, not edgy like usual. Another reason, could be P2P networks such as Limewire and Frostwire, where people can basically download music for free. Mariah was pushed back several times, so when it was finally released, there was no anticipation for it, because it had already leaked nearly a month before its release. Give Me your thoughts, I might revisit this topic.

She has been on Atlanta, Georgia’s WSB-TV for nearly 35 years now. Most of us may know her. She has won numerous awards, and has interviewed A-list celebs, (Oprah, among others..). But, in Atlanta, every weekday in the afternoon, she is a news anchor alongside John Pruitt, (another WSB-TV legendary anchor), and reports the news better than anyone I’ve seen on local news.  Monica announced her departure on March 16, 2010 on “The Ryan Cameron Show” on V-103 in Atlanta. She mentioned that she would like to, “do more acting, voice overs, and even trying radio again, once she retires on July 31st 2010.”  I Wish the best to Monica, and I will always support her.

Ok, I’m open to artists trying new music, but 50 is really turning soft. I’m interested in hearing it though. There’s no doubt that Auto-tune won’t be present. Take a peek at 50’s statement–>

“I went to a nightclub after party. It was different music after a while. The music they were playing before they were playing the music I created was more up-tempo, more dance. I wanted to make a song like that, so I went into the studio. Because I’m travelling with my live band, I took the band with me and we sequenced it and recorded the actual record while we was out there…I won’t allow myself to be placed in a box where I can only do one style, or do one kind of music. They should expect the unexpected on this one. If they can understand how I enjoy different genres of music and different styles, for the people who have various tastes in music, they’ll really like it.” <–I Can’t!
